Every day of a multi-day tour has its own weather. Bergradar splits your route into stages, works out the time for each and shows the forecast for the hour you are there. So you plan the nights not by feel, but by terrain, pace and weather.
You set the stage boundaries on the map, drag them to another spot or type in a kilometre. The original route stays unchanged. You can try everything without an account.
For each stage you see distance, ascent, descent and the estimated riding or walking time, plus the places it runs between. The time takes ascent and descent into account, not just the length.
If you would rather not split it yourself, Bergradar proposes stages of equal effort, estimated from ascent and descent. You can still move the boundaries afterwards.
On request each stage ends at accommodation near the route. If accommodation lies just past the edge, it is shown with the extension it needs, so you can weigh it up yourself. Whether the accommodation is open and has free rooms, you check yourself.
The times follow your pace: first your profile, then the route's, otherwise a default value. The screen shows where the pace comes from.
Once you have saved the plan, you download each stage as its own GPX file, all together or as a ZIP, and transfer them to your device. From the plan you can also make a tour with a link, on which every stage has its own forecast.
The Forststeig Elbsandstein in three stages with overnight stays, starting next Saturday. Every stage shows its forecast, the nights are at accommodation along the way, and the plan is read-only: you can look at it and open every stage.
